Response :

Government has a responsibility to conserve the culture and tradition of the nation. It should utilize adequate financial support and funds in conserving the culture and tradition. For conserving the culture and tradition, government should, not only support cities but also small towns and villages, as the sub-urban areas and villages are the true representative of the nation's culture and tradition.
In fact cities have a hybrid cultures and traditions because of immigrants, and mixing of other cultures and societies. For a foreigner, cities may be a cultural centre, because they are usually confined within the cities and tourists spots. This is the main reason for cities being regarded as windows to the outside world. On the other hand, a native person understands that the original culture and tradition of the region prevails in the towns and villages which remain unaffected by the external factors.
Villages are the cradle of cultures and traditions whereas; cultures and traditions in cities are formed by the culture of people who migrate from villages to cities.
So, to preserve culture and tradition, villages should also be financially supported.
The development of cities on the cost of towns and villages is not at all justified. Government should provide financial support to cities, but shouldn't neglect villages. Bangalore is a IT hub of India, also called the Silicon Valley of India. It has seen a rapid growth within a decade, but the adjoining sub-urban areas remained untouched. At present, Bangalore city has reached a saturation point due to over utilization of resources. This is the consequence of unbalanced development of villages and cities. General, the government invests in areas which have economical potential, this lead to neglecting of other regions where the majority of the population resides.
The government financial support to the cities for preservation of culture and tradition is acceptable, till the balanced development of country is the central motive.
